c. Perform detailed field surveys, to understand existing conditions.
d. Prepare detailed field survey reports.
e. Generate and modify design and other contract related drawings, utilizing CADD (e.g. Bentley MicroStation, etc.)
f. Generate design and other contract related documents utilizing the Microsoft Suite of applications (Word, etc.) and services (Office 365, etc.).
g. Review and mark-up construction submittals.
h. Assist with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), HMI (Human Machine Interfaces) and GUI (Graphical User Interfaces) configuration and programing.
i. Assist with design industrial control panels in compliance with UL508A.

j. Perform other duties, as assigned. Education Requirement: A Baccalaureate degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college and one year of full-time satisfactory experience or a baccalaureate degree and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Experience Requirements:
One year of satisfactory full-time work in communications or electrical engineering
Licensing/Training Requirements
Assistant Electrical Engineer
The Consultant shall obtain 30-Hour Office of Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Certification and 8-hour Lead Awareness Courses, as required, at no cost to MTA C&D.
Must pass a One-day MTA C&D Track Safety & prior to participating any in work capital projects.
Desired Skills/Training Requirements
Assistant Electrical Engineer
Knowledge of various electrical, control systems and equipment.
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks between stakeholders which include contractors, operations, other NYCT departments and engineering personnel.
Consultant shall provide safety shoes, at no cost to MTA C&D, which meets MTA C&D guidelines and specifications when participating in any activities located on the track or wayside.
The Consultant shall become familiar with and follow MTA C&D Guidelines and Procedures as applicable.
Excellent communications skills.
Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to set priorities and ensure timely completion of assignments.
Assistant Electrical Engineer Familiarity with designing and programming microprocessor-based control systems Programmable Logic Controller ("PLC”) systems, User Interfaces such as HMI (Human Machine Interfaces), GUI (Graphical User Interfaces), etc.
Assistant Electrical Engineer
Familiarity with industrial control panel design.
Proficient with Computer-aided Design and Drafting ("CADD").
Familiarity with graphical editing. Hours: Normal Work Week: Monday through Friday (days/nights/weekend based on project need)
Time
Hours of Work: 7:30 AM
4:30 PM with a 1 hour lunch break.
Number of Paid Hours Per Week: 40 hours (NYCT does not pay for lunch hours)

70% technical/30% administrative support
Field 40%/Office 60%

Reports to: Vishnu Itwaru, Sr. Technical Specialist 3 Technical Services, Wayside Power, MTA Construction and Development Company ("MTA C&D”), Infrastructure Business Unit.
